Amelia Day brought her fusion of folk, rock, and pop to Rolling Bay Hall on Sunday, May 3 -- and Bainbridge showed up for it. Her songs move between the triumphs and trials of adulthood and deeply personal stories of love and queerness, and in a room this close, every word landed.

It was exactly the kind of night Rolling Bay Music Club is here to make happen: a local venue, a talented artist, and a community ready to listen.

Portland-based singer-songwriter Chris Pureka brought their brand of deeply felt folk-americana to an intimate house show in Deepwell Estates, five minutes from downtown Palm Springs — and it was exactly the kind of night RBMC exists to make happen.

Pureka's music resists easy categorization: it's been called folk, americana, and indie rock, but what it really is, is honest. Over a 20-year independent career, they've built a devoted following through sheer emotional precision — as a vocalist, as a lyricist, and as a performer who makes a room go completely still. Pureka's "sad fun" (their words, their motto) has that rare quality: it leaves you full rather than empty.

Amelia Day came home. The Sumner, Washington native -- standing at the intersection of folk, rock, and pop Amelia Day -- brought her powerhouse vocals and deeply personal songwriting to an intimate night at Rabbit Box Theatre, and the room felt every word of it.
